Northeastern researchers may have discovered why some tumors grow back aggressively after radiation, chemotherapy
Many of the commonly used cancer treatments kill tumor cells. But sometimes, after those cells have died and been cleared away, a tumor will respond by growing faster and more aggressively. Using computer modeling, Northeastern professors Gunther Zupanc and Rifat Sipahi may have figured out why.
