On Tuesday, more than 90 congressional staff and education advocates took part in a legislative policy briefing on Capitol Hill organized by Northeastern’s Office of Government Relations and the office of Senator Patty Murray. As Congress prepares to reauthorize the Higher Education Act, officials from the U.S. Department of Treasury and U.S. Department of Education joined administrators from Northeastern University and Bellevue College to share information about federal initiatives and higher education best practices around financial literacy.
