Despite broken bones and old wounds from the stage, Northeastern associate teaching professor Jesse Hinson says the goal of stage combat is to never put anyone in harm's way. Hinson teaches acting methodologies, including stage fights, which involve choreography that tells the story of violence. Communication, boundaries and taking care of each other are very important in executing stage combat scenes, Hinson says.
