There’s still time to nominate someone for membership in the Huntington 100, a prestigious program at Northeastern that celebrates graduate and undergraduate students’ achievements in research, co-op, athletics, entrepreneurship, community service, and leadership. The deadline for nomination is 11:59 p.m. on Monday, March 11.

“This program recognizes those students who are really the full package,” says Emily Hardman, director of student programming and communication for Student Affairs and one of the organizers of the Huntington 100. “They are impressive academically but have also done some amazing things outside the classroom.”

Anyone, including faculty, staff, advisors, coaches, employers, and fellow students, can nominate a graduate or undergraduate student for inclusion in the Huntington 100 by filling out a nomination form online.

Nominators must also provide a recommendation letter that includes information on the student’s academic success, global experience, leadership on campus, entrepreneurial spirit, community service, and research experience.

A panel of judges composed of representatives from each college, the Division of Student Affairs, and the Office of Alumni Relations will review the nominations and make selections. The judges will make their choices by the end of March, and this year’s class of the Huntington 100 will be announced in early April.

There were more than 600 nominations in 2018, Hardman says. She expects that number to be even higher this year.

“By doing this, we get to learn a lot of great student stories,” she says. “That’s one of the things I love about this program; students are doing incredible things that maybe a lot of people don’t know about until the nominations.”
