Aoun and athletic director Peter Roby (right) introduced the university’s first-ever endowed head coaching fund—the Fernie Flaman Endowed Men’s Hockey Coach Fund—on Saturday before the men’s hockey game at Matthews Arena. Alumnus and current men’s hockey head coach Jim Madigan (center) is the first person to hold the position. The fund is named for legendary Northeastern hockey coach Fernie Flaman, who led the Huskies to 255 victories and four Beanpot titles in 19 seasons as head coach.
